The Gauchos are on a four-match winning streak as the week begins. After going 1-12 to start the season, UCSB is 6-12 and 6-1 in conference play.Â
Amelia Honer was named Big West Player of the Week for a league record sixth time on Wednesday. An eight-time winner of the award, Honer is currently 13-1, ranked No. 60 in singles, and teammate Kira Reuter is ranked No. 12 in doubles with an 11-2 record in the latest ITA Rankings.
THE LEAGUE RACE
Entering the final week of the regular season, the Matadors are in contention for the top seed in the Big West Championships. At 7-1, Hawai'i leads the conference, followed by UC Santa Barbara at 6-1.

CSUN, Cal State Fullerton, and Cal Poly are tied for third with a 5-3 mark. Long Beach State is 4-3, followed by UC Davis at 3-5. UC Irvine (2-5), UC San Diego (1-7), and UC Riverside (0-7) round out the league standings.

Long Beach State is at UC Irvine on Thursday before traveling to UC Davis on Saturday. UCSB and CSUN are the lone Big West dual scheduled for Friday. Cal Poly travels to UC Santa Barbara on Saturday while Cal State Fullerton hosts UC Riverside. Sunday is the final day of the regular season and features Hawai'i at UC Irvine and UC Riverside at UC San Diego.

All nine postseason-eligible Big West teams will head to the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego for the 2023 Big West Women's Tennis Championship Apr. 26-29. The nine-team bracket will see the 8 and 9 seeds play a first-round match on Thursday to advance to the quarterfinals, where the No. 1 seed awaits. The remaining quarterfinals will see the two-seed play the seven; the three-seed play the six, and the four-seed play the five.

The semifinals begin on Friday at noon, followed by the Saturday finals at noon.

TEAM LEADERS
Yuliia Zhytelna has recorded a team-high 14 singles victories (14-4). Sasha Turchak and Emma Moratalla Sanz have won 12 singles matches, while Angela Ho has 10 singles victories.

Zhytelna and Turchak have played together in 17 matches this season, posting a 12-5 record. Ho is 13-3 in doubles action. Playing with Ho, Jolene Coetzee is 11-3 in doubles play this season.
