CSUN Track & Field Heads to Nevada Invitational This Week

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.---CSUN Track & Field gears up for its second meet of the indoor season this week. The Matadors will travel to Reno, Nevada to compete in the Nevada Invitational/Multis at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center from Jan. 23-25.

CSUN has entered in 21 total events with 11 on the men's side and 10 on the women's side. The action will begin on Thursday with multi events with two Matadors, Brianna Kelpis and Audrie Reuss, set to compete in the women's pentathlon starting at noon. Friday opens with field events starting at 10 a.m. followed by the start of track events at noon. Both field and track events will kick off at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning.
On the women's team, the following Matadors have entered in events this week: Amani Britton, Treasure Brown, Sakura Divecchio, Savannah Ganter, Zola Grey, Camryn Harris, Jocelyn Hoggard, Brianna Kelpis, Myli Level, Marina McNeil-Vivanco, Alba Moreno Paredes, Ashleigh Porter, Elin Markarian, Summer Mosley, Kaliyah Poston, Audrie Reuss, Katherine Shipp-Davis and Chandler Smith. On the men's team, the following have entered events in Nevada: Layne Buck, Santiago Cerda, Tzu-Ting Chan, Tylor Connelly, James Crawford, Luke DaVanon, Tui Edwin, Daniel Harper, Elijah Ignacio, Francisco Isiordia, Darrick Jacob, Jr., Trey Knight, Guillermo Lopez, Jay Louison-Roe, Chase Mars, Gabe Martinez, Tibyasa Matovu, Giovanni Moreno, Joey Nations, Walter Pierce, Ja'Patrick Smith, Wyatt Wiggins, Jr..

CSUN opened the 2025 indoor season with five individual wins at Northern Arizona's Lumberjack Team Challenge on Jan. 17.
On the men's team, freshman Daniel Harper won his first CSUN event by taking first place in the 60m finals with a time of 6.75 (sixth-fastest in school history) while senior Wyatt Wiggins, Jr. was first in the 200m with a PR of 21.36 (seventh-fastest in school history). Junior newcomer Jay Louison-Roe claimed first place in the triple jump with a mark of 14.82m (48-7.5).
The women's team picked up two first-place finishes at NAU. Senior Kaliyah Poston won her first individual event as a Matador as she won the 200m with a time of 24.47. Junior newcomer Camryn Harris also made a strong debut with CSUN, winning the triple jump with a mark of 11.73m (38-6).
UP NEXT
After this week's competition, CSUN will return to action in two weeks when it splits the team and competes in two separate meets. The Matadors will send athletes to Kansas State's Steve Miller Invitational on Feb. 7 while CSUN will also be represented at the Wolf Pack Classic in Reno from Feb. 7-8.
