Â
Despite allowing two hits in the bottom half, Carranco got out of a two on, two outs jam.
Â
In the top of the second, Alexis Chavez singled to left field to get things going. A wild pitch moved Chavez to second base. Larissa Flores bunted her over to third. After Raegan Jackson walked, Carman was up to the plate again. The senior from Huntington Beach doubled to bring Chavez home, her second of the game to give CSUN a 2-0 lead.
Â
The very next batter, Jadyn Nielsen hit CSUN's third double of the day, this time plating two, scoring Jackson and Carman for a 4-0 lead.
Â
With a new pitcher in the circle for the Mustangs, Tiara Westbrook singled to left field to put two on and one out. Liana came up again and got her second hit of the day. A single to right field and Nielsen scored, making it 5-0. CSUN's hit parade wouldn't stop rolling. The next batter, Kyle Galindo singled through the rest side, scoring another runner, this made it 6-0 with still two outs to work with in the second. After Alexa Landeros bunted runners over to second and third, Chavez, singled to right field and scored a seventh run.
Â
In the top of the third inning, with one out, Jackson singled to right field. Carman then got her third hit of the day, as she singled to left field to put two on and one out. Nielsen followed with her second hit of the day, an infield single that plated the Matadors' eighth run of the day.Â
Â
Gisella Vargas Sandoval, the next batter, grounded out to third, but a run did score for a 9-0 CSUN lead.
Â
In the top of the fifth, CSUN added one more, as Jackson scored on a fielding error after a single by Vargas Sandoval. This made it 10-0. Later on in the inning, Landeros came up with the bases loaded. She singled to left to add one more. Finally, CSUN added its twelve run when Chavez singled to centerfield, scoring Vargas Sandoval.

NEWS AND NOTES
Â
ACCORDING TO HEAD COACH CHARLOTTE MORGAN
"We came into their house and beat them three games in a row, and that's hard to do in conference play. Cal Poly has proven that no matter what happens to them, they bounce back. We had a lot of things that we worked on this morning. We executed most of it. We are raising the standards, and the team is living up to the increased expectations. We had a great weekend, great weekend in the circle and defensively as well. I am really proud of them, and proud of them for trusting the coaching staff. It's exciting,"
