The Matadors opened the day in dominant fashion, capturing all five scoring flights in a commanding sweep of Hope International.Â
CSUN set the tone early as Dylan Hall and Ava Rogers rolled to a 21-5, 21-11 win at No. 4, one of several lopsided victories that highlighted the Matadors' balance across the lineup, as multiple pairs went undefeated on the day. Ainsley Patrick and Tia Mendiola were equally impressive at No. 2, conceding just 14 combined points in a 21-8, 21-6 triumph.
At No. 3, Jill Rodig and Zaria Henderson delivered a steady 21-5, 21-13 victory, while the top pair of Hannah Heflin and Maleya Miles closed out a 21-17, 21-16 win at No. 1 to help seal the sweep. Haley Coggins and Daysha Halbert capped the scoring with a balanced 21-14, 21-14 decision at No. 5.
The win marked CSUN's first team victory of the season, improving the Matadors to 1-7 overall.

Rodig and Henderson added another straight-set win at No. 3 (21-11, 21-12), and Heflin and Miles battled through a tight second set at No. 1 before securing a 21-15, 22-20 victory to complete the sweep.
HEAD COACH JEFF HALL SAID
"Windy day where ball control is a premium. Really proud of our performance, we were locked in and playing really well. Nice to get a couple of wins and hope this creates some momentum for us."
