2022 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Finished second in the 400m at the Cal Poly Open (:51.02) to begin the season...was a season best seventh in the 800m (1:58.35) at the UCSB Invitational...helped the 4x400m relay to a second place finish at UCSB and a third place showing at the Cal Poly Open.
INDOOR: Did not compete.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2021 graduate of Arcadia High School…posted a three-mile prep best of 15:43.5 to finish 23rd at the 2019 Pacific League Finals… qualified for the 2019 CIF-SS Division Finals…was 11th at the 2018 Pacific League Finals and 24th at the 2017 Pacific League Finals…charted 5000m prep-best time of 17:53.3 at the 2018 Asics Clovis Cross Country Invitational…won four 400m races as a senior in 2021 including the Pacific League Finals…in winning the All Pacific League Challenge 1, he ran a prep best time of :50.00...qualified for the 2021 CIF-SS Division I meet in the 400m…won four 800m races as a senior including a dual meet against Crescenta Valley when he posted a prep best time of 1:57.34…a member of the Arcadia 4x400m relay that was second at the Pacific League Finals as a senior…won the 800m and was a member of the 4x400m relay that won at the 2019 Pacific League Finals.
PERSONAL: Son of Randy and Linda Hettich…a Journalism (OPT) Broadcast major...favorites include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Chase Utley, Jamie Lorente López, Zoe Saldana, The Haunting of Hill House, In the Shadow of the Moon, Udon, AJR, and Realstk...chose CSUN because the school has one of the best journalism programs in California…says greatest sports moment so far is coming from behind to win the Arcadia Invitational Sprint Medley Relay…says the best thing about being an athlete is the adrenaline and the satisfaction of racing…the best athlete he has competed against is Tyler Tickner…the most famous person he has met is Shia LeBeouf…the person in history he would like to meet is Euclid Kipchoge…the two people he would like to have dinner with are the Russo Brothers…the best advice he has been given is to finish on empty…his advice to young people is find somewhere you can see the city skyline, it puts your problems into perspective…says his greatest hero is his dad who puts up with a lot of stuff and I have never seen him break down and is a very strong man.
