2020 (JUNIOR)
OUTDOOR: Competed in the 800m at the Mar. 7 San Diego Collegiate Challenge...turned in a time of 1:57.85 to finish eighth.
INDOOR: Ran both the 600m and the 800m during the indoor campaign...lowered indoor best time in the 800m to 1:57.16 to place 21st during the MPSF Championship...season best 11th in the 800m came during the Lumberjack Challenge Jan. 17...turned in season best time in the 600m of 1:24.39 to finish a season best sixth at the New Mexico Open Feb. 1.
CROSS COUNTRY: Entered all four races for CSUN…placed 39th in the season-opening USD Invitational, running 31:06.1 over the 8k course…was 172nd at The Master’s Invitational Sept. 28, posting a time of 28:40.5 on the 4.97m course…recorded season best 8k time at the Highlander Invitational Oct. 19, running 27:18.0 to come in 126th…was the top-finishing Matador at the Big West Championship Nov. 2, finishing 53rd in a time of 28:31.7.
2019 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Took part in the 1500m during the first two events of the season, the San Diego Collegiate Classic (Mar. 9) and the USC Invitational (Mar. 16)…finished third in San Diego…ran a best of 4:04.45 during the USC Invitational…ran the 800m five times with a season best 1:57.19 occurring during the Pacific Coast Intercollegiate Apr. 18.
INDOOR: Entered two meets, the Air Force Holiday Open (Dec. 7) and the UW Invitational (Jan. 25-26)…ran on three different relays (4x400, DMR, and 4x440 yard) for the Matadors…lone individual race was the 1000m at the Air Force Holiday Open where he placed 10th (2:47.40).
CROSS COUNTRY: Competed for the Matadors for the first time in cross country…ran a season best 8k time of 26:35.20 at the UC Riverside Invitational on Sept. 15…entered four meets with a season best finish of 57th coming during the Big West Championship.
2018 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Ran a season best time 800m time of 1:55.44 during the preliminaries of the Big West Championship May 11…posted a season best third place finish in the 800m at the Mar. 24 Northridge Invitational (1:57.03)…ran in the 800m at the Beach Pacific Coast Intercollegiate, UCSD Triton Invitational, and the Pomona-Pitzer Invite…was seventh in the 600m at the CSUN All-Comers on Mar. 10.
INDOOR: Entered in one indoor meet, the Feb. 2 New Mexico Classic…ran in the 800m in Albuquerque and finished 16th (1:58.92).
CROSS COUNTRY: Did not compete during the cross country season for the Matadors.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2017 graduate of John Burroughs High School in Burbank, Calif...coach was John Peebles...competed in both cross country and track...was a middle-distance runner for the track team...the Indians were CIF cross country champions in 2014 and won league championships in 2014, 2015 and 2016...graduated with a 3.0 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Gregory and Julie Fendrich...majoring in Kinesiology: Physical Education…has one brother, Matthew and one sister, Madeline...favorites include actors Patrick Dempsey and Ellen Pompeo, the TV show "The Office" and the movie "The Outsiders"...says the best thing about being an athlete is "being fit.”
