TRACK: Did not compete at Cerritos College.
CROSS COUNTRY
Transferred to Cerritos (Junior) College...came in 83rd place at the CCCAA State Championship with a time of 21:57.5 after placing 33rd at the Southern California Championship in a time of 22:09.3…finished 26th place at the South Coast Conference Championship with his clocking of 22:33.8, while his time of 22:46.1 put him in 44th place at the Mt. San Antonio Invitational…checked in with a 43rd place time of 28:20.0 at the Triton Classic and finished in 28th place at the UNLV Invitational with a time of 20:37…his time of 22:14.7 put him in 25th place at the SoCal Preview Meet, while he crossed the finish line at the Fresno Invitational in 21:38.8, good for 21st place, which led the team…also paced the team at the Redlands Invitational with an eighth place finish in 19:59.36...Did not compete in either indoor or outdoor track at Cerritos College.
2016 (FRESHMAN):
OUTDOOR: Competed in the 800m and 1500m in one event, the Aztec Open...finished the 800m in a time of 2:04.63 to finish eighth...was 15th in the 1500m with a time of 4:18.64.
INDOOR: Did not compete.
CROSS COUNTRY: Sat out as a redshirt in the CSUN program.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2015 graduate Downey High School...competed in both track and cross country...earned Most Valuable Distance Runner and Most Outstanding Runner for the Vikings...top cross country time was 15:24...was a team captain for both sports.
PERSONAL: Son of Juan and Maria Muñoz...a Kinesiology: physical education major...has one younger sister, Joanna...favorites include the New England Patriots, the TV show "How I Met Your Mother", tacos al postor and the music of Bring Me the Horizon ... says the best thing about being an athlete is "the feeling of being a part of a family with my teammates."
