Dimitar Kalchev appeared in all 27 matches and 89 of CSUN's 94 sets in his third season ... was named First Team All-Big West as well as a Volleyball Magazine Honorable Mention All-American ... finished the season with 270 kills which ranked second on the squad to Arvis Greene's 378 ... heads into his senior season with 915 career kills which ranks ninth in CSUN's Rally Scoring history ... with a career average of 3.18 kills per set, ranks eighth on the Matadors' Rally Scoring list and is 10th with 1,899 career attacks ... led the Matadors with 44 aces (0.49 per set) which ranked second in the Big West and 10th nationally ... opens his final season ranked third in Matador history with 152 career aces, trailing all-time leader Coley Kyman (183) by 31 aces ... ranked fourth on the Matadors with 104 digs (1.17 per set) and was also fourth in blocks with 43 ... also has career totals of 335 digs (1.16 per set) and 145 blocks ... pounded a season-high 22 kills and also had 12 digs for his only double-double of the season at Concordia-Irvine (Feb. 24) ... posted double figures in kills 12 times ... matched his career high with six aces in CSUN's 3-0 win over No. 3 Hawai'i (Mar. 16) ... was one of four Matadors to earn Big West All-Academic Team honors.Â

Kalchev was the only Matador to appear in all 27 matches and 100 sets in his second season ... was named honorable mention All-MPSF ... finished second to Arvis Greene in kills with a career-high 344 while averaging 3.44 kills per set ... hit a career-high .341 on 651 attacks ... broke Eric Vance's eight-year school record for aces in one season with 63 which was tops in the MPSF and second in the NCAA ... had nearly half of CSUN's 128 team aces ... had at least one ace in 24 of 27 matches, which included matching a career-high with six aces against No. 14 USC (Feb. 22) ... finished second on the squad with 130 digs (1.30 dps) which was also a career-high ... finished with 43 blocks and seven assists ... finished a match with double figures in kills 21 times in 27 matches ... pounded a career-high 26 kills to go with a season-high nine digs against No. 10 Loyola-Chicago (Mar. 10) ... earned MPSF All-Academic honors for the first time.
CSUNÂ - 2016 (Freshman)
Kalchev appeared in 28 of 29 matches and 99 of 104 sets in his first season at CSUN ... started all 28 matches at outside hitter ... was named to the 2016 Freshmen All-America Team by Off The Block/Springbak, Inc. ... finished second on the Matadors with 301 kills while averaging 3.04 kills per set ... led the team with 45 aces which ranked third in the MPSF and is the ninth best total for a single season in CSUN history (sixth in rally scoring era) ... also recorded 101 digs (1.02 dps), 59 blocks (0.60 bps) and seven assists on the season ... pounded a season-high 25 kills to go with five aces at top-ranked UCLA (Jan. 29) ... had a pair of double-doubles with 16 kills and 10 digs at No. 6 Penn State (Mar. 4) and 17 kills and a season-high 13 digs in CSUN's 3-2 win over No. 2 Long Beach State (Mar. 19) ... reached double figures in kills 15 times ... served a season-high six aces on two occasions; vs. Cal Baptist (Jan. 13) and vs. No. 11 UC Irvine (Feb. 17).
HRISTO BOTEV FLHS
Kalchev lettered in volleyball at Hristo Botev Foreign Language High School in Kardzhali, Bulgaria ... was an outside hitter for five seasons while also playing beach volleyball in 2013 and 2014 ... his team finished finished first in league in 2013 and 2014 ... played in the U-22 Beach National Championship where he was named Most Valuable Player ... finished in fifth place with the U-18 Bulgarian National Beach Team at the 2013 European Championship ... graduated in 2015 with a 3.80 grade point average.
