CSUNÂ - 2018 (Junior)
Sam Porter appeared all 26 matches and 76 sets in his third season at CSUN ... led the Matadors in assists for the third straight season with 734 (9.66 aps) which ranked fourth among Big West setters ... heads into his senior season with 2,659 career assists which ranks eighth in CSUN history and sixth in the Matadors' Rally Scoring era ... trails Travis Magorien by 252 assists to reach the top five in CSUN's Rally Scoring era ... also has 306 career digs, 116 career blocks and 31 career aces as he opens his final season in 2019 ... had career season bests of 20 kills and 111 digs during his junior season while also hitting a career best .485 on 33 attempts ... handed out a career-high 70 assists while also scooping up a career-high 10 digs for his first collegiate double-double at Concordia-Irvine (Feb. 24) ... recorded 44 assists and nine digs in CSUN's 3-1 victory at UC San Diego (Apr. 14) ... posted 42 assists, eight digs and one ace in the Matadors' 3-0 Big West Tournament Quarterfinal win over UC Santa Barbara (Apr. 19) ... knocked down a career-high four kills at No. 11 UC Santa Barbara (Mar. 31) and posted a career-high six blocks in CSUN's 3-0 win at Stanford (Feb. 10) ... matched his career-high with two aces in three different matches.
CSUNÂ - 2017 (Sophomore)
Porter appeared all 26 matches and 90 sets during his sophomore season ... started 23 matches at setter ... led CSUN for the second consecutive season with 910 assists while averaging a career-high 10.11 assists per set which ranked fourth in the MPSF ... heads into his junior season ranked ninth in CSUN history with 1,925 career assists ... ranked third on the Matadors with 94 digs (1.04 dps) ... added 33 blocks and six aces ... dished out a season-high 51 assists in CSUN's 3-1 win over Fort Wayne (Jan. 6) and had 50 assists against No. 10 Loyola-Chicago (Mar. 10) ... added a career-high nine digs against Loyola to narrowly miss his first collegiate double-double.
CSUNÂ - 2016 (Freshman)
Porter appeared all 29 matches and a team-high 102 sets in his first season at CSUN ... started 28 matches at setter ... finished the season with 1,015 assists (9.95 aps) which ranked sixth in the MPSF and was the 10th best total for a single season in CSUN's rally scoring history ... also finished his freshman season with 101 digs (0.99 dps), 49 blocks (0.48 bps) and 15 aces which ranked fourth on the team ... as a team, CSUN hit .261 on the season ... posted a season-high 58 assists at No. 6 Penn State (Mar. 4) and had 52 assists against both No. 13 USC (Jan. 13) and No. 2 Long Beach State (Mar. 19) ... had 33 assists, three kills, three blocks and two digs in his collegiate debut against Charleston (Jan. 6) ... served a season-high two aces on four different occasions.
WESTERN BRANCHÂ HIGH SCHOOL
Porter earned three letters in volleyball at Western Branch High School in Chesapeake, VA ...  the same high school produced former Matador Dan Rhodes ... was a two-time first team all-conference setter as well as Player of the Year as a senior in 2015 ... also earned first team All-State accolades as a senior and second team All-Tidewater ... holds the school record for most assists in a single season ... graduated in 2015 with a 3.3 grade point average.
