Markarian competed in all six races in her senior season with CSUN ... led the Matadors at the NCAA West Regional (11/15/24) with a 6k time of 22:29.4 for 191st-place points (193rd overall) ... ran a season-best 6k time of 22:17.2 and was the second-fastest Matador at the Big West Championship (11/2/25), capturing 60th-place points (72nd overall) ... set a PR in the 5k of 19:01.5 at the UCR Cross Country Invitational (9/21/24) for 57th-place points (79th overall) ... established a PR in the 4k of 14:55.8 at the Waves Invite (8/30/24) for 35th-place points (38th overall).
CSUN - 2023 (Junior)
Markarian competed in all five races ... ran on a 5k course and posted a time of 19:37.9, finishing second among Matador runners and 54th overall at the Big West Preview (9/1/23) ... set a new personal record in the 6k with a time of 21:51.9, posting the seventh-best time in school history at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational (10/14/23) ... finished with a time of 22:48.1 at the Big West Championships, finishing 52nd overall (10/27/23) ... competed at the NCAA West Regional and ran a time of 22:04.1.

Was the top finishing CSUN entry at the NCAA West Regional ... ran a 22:11.3 which earned her 191st-place points (197th overall) .. .her time is the 10th best by a Matador at the Division I level, and she lowered her 6k personal best by nearly 11 seconds ... finished 57th at the Big West Championships (22:22.3) ... posted her season-best finish, 11th, at the Pepperdine Waves Invitational.

Ran in 4-of-5 Matador events ... was the top finishing CSUN runner at the UC Riverside Highlander Invitational. .. ran a season-best 6k time of 23:46.7 to be awarded 112th place points ... was 148th overall ... finished 66th at the Big West Championship (24:29.7) ... was 227th at the NCAA West Regional (24:54.4) ... charted a time of 20:54.3 on the 3.11m course at The Master's Invitational to come in 101st overall.

A 2020 graduate of Burbank High School … placed fifth at the 2019 Pacific League Cross Country Championship … team won 2018 Pacific League Cross Country title ... recorded prep bests for the cross country team of 19:36.0 in the 2.9 mile, 17:55.20 in the 3.0 mile, and 19:24.20 in the 500m … posted prep bests of 2:27.99 in the 800m, 5:32.29 in the 1600m, and 11:34.00 in the 3200m.

Daughter of Torgom Markarian and Helen Nazarian … a marketing-business admin major ... favorites include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Colleen Quigley, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Aniston, Criminal Minds, Friends, The Pursuit of Happiness, Italian Food, Coldplay, J. Cole, and Netflix … chose CSUN because it was close to home and was the best fit for her … her greatest sports moment so far is breaking 18 in the three-mile as a junior and running 17:55 … says the best thing about being an athlete is the bond you create with your teammates and coaches and how much you learn about yourself when you are being pushed to your limits … says the toughest thing about being an athlete is staying consistent with her training and finding time to manage everything … the most famous person she has met is Channing Tatum … the person in history she would like to meet is Elvis Presley … would like to switch places with Gigi Hadid for one day … the two people she would like to have dinner with is Harry Styles and Leonardo DiCaprio … the best advice she has been given is don’t let anyone tell you what you can do or can’t do … her advice to young people is to live in the moment … says her greatest hero is her high school cross country coach, Kathryn Nelson because she pushed her to be the best version of herself both as an athlete and as a person and got her through some of my toughest times in her life and she doesn't even know it.
