Rain Cancels Matadors Versus Spartans

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. – The CSUN women's tennis match against San Jose State has been canceled due to inclement weather. Originally scheduled for 12:00 p.m. today, the match will possibly be rescheduled at a later date.

Earlier on in the week the Matadors completed a scrimmage against Azusa Pacific that saw CSUN win the dual 5-2. The Matadors lost the doubles point but made up the difference in singles when Jolene Coetzee, Skyla Alcon, Ana Isabel Fraile Toboso, Emma Roenholt and Sibel Demirbaga all win their singles' matches.

Although disappointed that the Matadors couldn't complete both matches this week, coach Gary Victor was happy with his team during the scrimmage against APU.

"Credit to Azusa Pacific for coming out hungry in doubles. We got our act together in singles and worked through the match, improving as the day went along," said Victor. "Happy to see players like Skyla performing at such a high level."

CSUN returns to the courts at home on Feb. 9 against Marymount California University. The Mariners are 1-0 on the season.
