OVERTIME

THE NUMBERS
San Diego went 30-of-58 from the floor (51.7%), compared to 26-of-62 (41.9%) for CSUN. The Matadors made 13 steals and forced 23 turnovers. USD made 11 steals as CSUN turned the ball over 22 times. ACCORDING TO INTERIM HEAD COACH CARLENE MITCHELL
"You have to give San Diego credit. USD is a strong team. We struggled to finish at the rim against their physical guards. We had to spend a lot of energy to send it to overtime. There were times where it seemed like we had a couple of turnovers in a row. Right now, we are in a stretch where we aren't getting a lot of time to practice. So, we are hoping right now to get better and get to the Christmas break when we have more time to practice and fix our issues before Big West play begins."
NOTES
Sunday was the first overtime loss for CSUN since Dec. 9, 2014, when the Matadors fell 85-74 at USC…this was the first overtime loss at home for CSUN since Jan. 2, 2013, when CSU Bakersfield defeated the Matadors 74-73…Sunday was the 10th consecutive San Diego victory in the series dating back to Dec. 9, 2000, when the Matadors defeated San Diego 75-54.
