The Matadors complete a season-opening three-game road trip Sunday afternoon at No. 19 Arizona. The tip is set for 4 p.m. PST/5 p.m. MST with Arizona Streaming coverage on Pac-12.com.
ABOUT ARIZONA
The Wildcats begin the season ranked 19th in both the AP and Coaches Polls.
Picked third in the preseason Pac-12 poll, Jade Loville, Shaina Pellington, and Cate Reese were named to the Preseason All-Pac-12 team.
Esmery Martinez scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as the Wildcats defeated Northern Arizona 113-56 in the 2022-23 season opener for Arizona on Thursday night. Seven players scored in double digits for the Wildcats in the victory.
CSUN and Arizona have split the last two meetings between the two clubs. The Wildcats lead the all-time series 5-2.
Sunday's game will mark the 36th time CSUN has faced a nationally ranked opponent since moving to Division I in 1990. Including 12 out of the last 15 games CSUN has played against nationally ranked foes, the opponents have been against teams from the Pac-12.
IN REWIND
CSUN opened the season with a swing through the Bay Area. California defeated the Matadors 86-56 in the season-opener on Monday with Tess Amundsen scoring a team-high eight points for CSUN. No. 2 Stanford defeated CSUN 104-40 Wednesday night as Cheyenne Givens posted a team-best eight points against the Cardinal.
