LAS VEGAS, Nev.---CSUN Women's Soccer battled UNLV to a scoreless draw on Sunday afternoon at Peter Johann Memorial Field. Hayden Mauldin collected six saves in 90 minutes of action in goal.
HOW IT HAPPENED

In total, Mauldin had three saves in the first half while the CSUN defense held firm in keeping the Rebels off the scoreboard. The Matadors would get outshot 8-4 in the opening 45 minutes with Brooklin Woolf putting a shot on frame moments before halftime.
The Rebels nearly took the lead in the 48th minute when Cassie Villanueva struck a shot off the left post. Mauldin would stop another Villanueva shot moments later before saving an attempt off the foot of Nailah Harpring in the 52nd minute. Over the last 20-plus minutes, CSUN outshot UNLV 4-1 with threes shot attempts on frame. Both Erin Anderson and Ashley Cruz had shots saved while Angelica Claiborne put a shot on goal in the final seconds.
NOTES ON THE GAME
"Credit to UNLV, they posed some problems for us, but our backline and Hayden were absolutely solid today. Offensively, I thought we could have been better. We lacked speed of play and ideas. I am happy with getting a result and there are lots of things we can build on moving forward. Bottom line, we need to be better as a collective and we will be."
