CSUN Falls at No. 14 UCLA To Begin Road Stretch

LOS ANGELES, Calif.---CSUN Women's Tennis (10-3) dropped a 4-0 decision at No. 14 UCLA (12-4) on Wednesday morning at the Los Angeles Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
CSUN would give UCLA a battle in doubles play, but the Bruins would pull out two wins to clinch the point. At No. 2, Bianca Fernandez and Ahmani Guichard notched a 6-2 win over Victoria Santibañez Luna and Cindy Ung. Sasha Turchak and Yuliia Zhytelna would also fall in their doubles match at No. 1 to Tian Fangran and Elise Wagle 6-3. Angela Ho and Elena Goodman went back and forth with Kimmi Hance and Mia Jovic at No. 3 before the match was called with the Bruins' tandem ahead by a slight 5-4 margin.
The Bruins picked up the first singles win at No. 3 with Fernandez knocking off Santibañez Luna in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. From there, Hance defeated Zhytelna at No. 2 by the scores of 6-0, 6-1. The match would be clinched at No. 1 where defending national singles champion Fangran beat Turchak 6-0, 6-0.
In the three unfinished matches, Nicole West held a 6-5 lead in set one over Jovic at No. 6. Guichard would lead Ho 6-2, 2-1 at No. 2 while Wagle held a 6-1, 4-0 advantage over Emma Moratalla Sanz at No. 4.

CSUN heads north to take on Pacific on Saturday at 11 a.m. before taking on Uc Davis on Sunday in a Big West match at 11 a.m.
