2011 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the CSUN program.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2011 graduate of La Jolla High School..played for La Jolla from 2006-10, earning a letter and captaining the squad by his senior year..named first team All-Western League in 2009 and the Region IV ODP Poo...led his team to the Surf Cup in 2009 and he graduated with a 3.0 GPA.
PERSONAL: Was born in San Diego to Entisar and Salam Mahmood and has two sisters...lists his favorite professional team as Inter Milan and his favorite athlete as Javier Zanetti...favorite movie is Rush Hour...chose to come to CSUN to be able to compete in the Big West Conference...his greatest sports moment was when he was called up to a U-17 national team camp... says the best thing about being an athlete is training to be better everyday, but the worst part is losing... when he has time to relax he likes to do yoga...the best athlete he has played against is Fredericho Macheda...would like to be stranded on a desert island with Adriana Lima...if he had a million dollars, he would spend it with the people he loves...most people do not know that Sam is tri-lingual...the best advice he has been given is, "Don't settle for second place" ...his greatest hero is his father, who had nothing and turned it into everything.
