2018 (SENIOR):
OUTDOOR: Finished fifth in the 3000m steeplechase at the Big West Championship in a career best time of 9:25.57...placed third in the 3000m at the Apr. 28 Desert Heat Classic (8:43.57)…was seventh in the steeplechase during the Beach Invitational on Apr. 20 (9:35.31)…came in ninth in the steeplechase (9:44.74) at the Apr. 7 Pomona-Pitzer Invite...named Academic All-Conference.
INDOOR: Ran twice in the mile during the campaign with a best of 4:24.90 coming during the MPSF Championship (25th)…competed in the 800m at the Jan. 19 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Invitational (2:03.62)...named Academic All-MPSF.
CROSS COUNTRY: Recorded a 34th place showing at the Big West Championship with a time of 25:40 over the 8k course…was 47th during the Oct. 14 6k UCR Highlander Invitational (18:58.50)…ran 26:16 over the 4.8m course during the Sept. 30 Mustang Challenge…placed 62nd at the UCR Invitational (8k, 25:50.20)...came home ninth at the season opening Pepperdine Invitational (16:10.78, 5k)…named Academic All-Conference.
2017 (JUNIOR)
OUTDOOR: Placed ninth with a season best time of 9:35.31 in the steeplechase at the Big West Championship...posted a season best time of 15:35.53 in the 5000m at the Texas Invitational...finished with a time of 4:07.17 in the 1500m at the Fresno State Invitational...named Academic All-Conference.
INDOOR: Registered a season best time of 8:39.47 in the 3000m, placing 39th at the MPSF Championship...a member of the distance medley relay team that finished ninth with a time of 10:39 at the MPSF Championship...named Academic All-MPSF.
CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in all six meets for the Matadors…was CSUN's top finisher at the Big West Championship after taking 15th in an 8k season best 25:42…placed 22nd at the UCR Highlander Invitational in a 6k time of 18:43.08…went on to finish 165th at the NCAA Regionals in a 10k time of 33:26.8…was one of four Matador men named Academic All-Conference.
2016 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Recorded a season-best time of 2:02.19 in the 800m...tallied a season-best time of 4:03.83 in the 1500m...recorded a season-best time of 8:58.13 in the 3000m...ran 15:11.62 in the 5000m.
INDOOR: Had a season-best time of 2:33.96 in the 1000m... posted a season best time of 4:36.40 in the mile...named Academic All-MPSF.
CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in six of seven meets for the Matadors ... finished in the top six at the season-opening Pepperdine Invitational in a time of 16:04.88 ... was CSUN's second-best finisher at the Big West Championship, clocking a time of 18:44.82 ... went on to finish 155th at the NCAA West Regional in a time of 34:29.7 ... was one of five Matador runners named Academic All-Conference.
2015 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Competed in the 1500m and as part of 4x400m relay team...ran a season-best 4:03.99 in the 1500m...a part of 4x400m relay team that finished in 3:39.63.
INDOOR: Posted a season-best time of 4:26.84 in the mile at UW Indoor Open.
CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in five of CSUN's seven cross country meets…finished 60th at the Big West Championship (Nov. 1) after clocking an 8k time of 26:50.9 ... finished a season-best 52nd in 27:32.3 at the San Francisco Invitational (Aug. 30).
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of San Pedro High School...coach was Bruce Thomson...lettered in both track and cross country...a part of the Pirates' LA City Champion cross country team in 2013...earned the teams' Clutch Award three times from 2011-13...best times were 2:03.88 in the 800 meters and 4:18.42 in the 1600 meters ... graduated in 2014.
PERSONAL: Born May 7, 1995 in Panama...mother is Zulieka Nettles...has two sisters, Janilka and Stephanie....favorites include the movie "Spirited Away", cheeseburgers and the band 30 Seconds to Mars...says the toughest thing about being an athlete is the "injuries"...enjoys watching anime in his free time.
