CSUN - 2016Â (Sophomore Season)
Mitch Theisen appeared in 19 matches and 43 sets during his sophomore season ... was primarily a serving specialist ... recorded four digs and one ace on the season ... had his single ace in CSUN's 3-0 win over Lindenwood (Jan. 8) and matched his career high with two digs in the Matadors' 3-1 win over No. 11 UC Irvine (Feb. 17) ... was one of three Matadors named to the 2016 MPSF All-Academic Team.
CSUN - 2015 (Freshman Season)
Theisen appeared in 24 matches and 70 sets as a true freshman ... was primarily a serving specialist in his first season ... recorded five digs and two aces over the course of the season ... served a season-high two aces at No. 9 UCLA (Mar. 3) and posted a season-high two digs in CSUN's 3-2 win over No. 8 UC Santa Barbara (Feb. 4) ... also recorded single digs at Stanford (Jan. 23), at UCLA (Mar. 3) and vs. Harvard (Mar. 14).
WAHLERT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL
Theisen lettered in soccer at Wahlert Catholic High School in Dubuque, Iowa ... the school did not have a boys volleyball team ... was a starting defender for the Golden Eagles soccer team that were state champions in 2012 and state qualifiers in 2013 ... earned first team All-Academic honors as a senior in 2014 ... graduated in 2014 with a 4.0 grade point average and earned Highest Honors as well as Most Distinguished Graduate.

Born January 9, 1996 in Dubuque, Iowa ... parents are Pam and Chris Theisen ... has one older brother, Peter and one older sister, Megan who played soccer at St. Ambrose University ... favorites include the TV show "Friends" and peanut butter ... chose CSUN because of "California, the coaches, beautiful campus and a nationally ranked volleyball team" ... says the best thing about being an athlete is "being close to my teammates and competing against the best players in the country" ... majoring in Nutrition.
