Maki was a four-time letterwinner at Newbury Park High School in Newbury Park, Calif. ... was a first team All-CIF outside hitter for coach Jorge Ostrovsky ... the Panthers won the Marmonte League championship in 2014 with a perfect 14-0 record ... earned first team All-Ventura County and first team All-Marmonte League honors as a junior in 2014 ... was a member of the Open Bronze Medalist team while earning all-tournament honors at the 2014 Boys Junior National Championships ... graduated in 2015 with a 3.3 grade point average.

Born December 3, 1996 in Thousand Oaks, Calif. ... parents are Lisa and Mitch Maki ... has one younger brother, Tyler ... his father, Mitch and Uncle, Mike also played volleyball at CSUN ...  favorites include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Derek Jeter, actress Jennifer Lawrence, the TV show "The Walking Dead" and the movie "Miracle" ... enjoys fishing and napping in his spare time ... says the toughest thing about being an athlete is "staying healthy" ... majoring in Kinesiology.
