Olumide (Lulu) Allen appeared in 21 of CSUN's 22 matches and 54 sets during his freshman season ... made 16 starts at middle blocker ... ranked sixth on the team with 78 kills while averaging 1.44 kills per set ... hit .422 on 135 swings to rank second on the team to Daniel Wetter's .469 ... earned a spot on the seven-member Big West All-Freshman Team ... also ranked third with 32 blocks (0.59 bps) ... had 22 digs (0.41 dps) and eight aces along with three assists ... had two kills on three swings in his collegiate debut at No. 2 UCLA (Jan. 27) ... put down a season-high eight kills against No. 14 UC Irvine (Apr. 8) and had seven kills on four other occasions ... hit a season-high .875 with seven kills on eight errorless attacks in CSUN's 3-1 win over UC Merced (Feb. 4) ... posted a season-high four blocks three times, the last at No. 9 UC San Diego (Mar. 31) ... served two aces against Vanguard (Feb. 9), Hawai'i (Mar. 26) and UC San Diego (Apr. 2).
EASTLAKEÂ HIGH SCHOOL
Allen was a two-time letterwinner at Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, Calif. ... played both middle and outside hitter for the Titans and coach Alex Garibay ... his team won the Mesa League championship in 2019 ... earned first team All-Mesa League honors as a junior in 2019 and second team accolades as a sophomore in 2018 ... also was awarded the CIF Sportsmanship award in 2018 ... graduated in 2020.
PERSONAL
Born in Newark, N.J. ... has two sisters, Elizabeth and Hellen and one bother, Samson who are all college graduates ... favorites include the Miami Heat, LeBron James, comedian Dave Chapelle, the TV show "Family Guy" and the movie "Uncut Gems" ... says he chose CSUN because "the culture and the people I was close with are there" ... says the best thing about being a student-athlete is "the satisfaction of winning and the overall competition" ... would like to switch places for a day with the Rock.
