Simpson competed in all five events on the season ... opened up the season by running a 5k time of 20:12.6 to take 74th place at the Big West Preview (9/1/23) ... registered a new PR in the 6k with a time of 23:32.3 at the Santa Clara Bronco Invitational (10/14/23) ... ran a time of 24:15.3 and finished 73rd overall at the Big West Championships (10/27/23) ... recorded a time of 23:57.1 at the NCAA West Regional ... named to the Big West All-Academic Team.
CSUN - 2022 (Freshman)
Entered five of the six events ... established a 6k best time of 23:45.4 at the Bronco Invitational (193rd overall) ... posted a time of 24:08.2 at the NCAA West Regional (244th) ... charted a season-best finish of 26th at the Pepperdine Waves Invitational ... ran 17:43.9 at the 4k Anteater Opener to begin the season.

Daughter of Robert and Pamela Simpson … favorites include Christiano Rinaldo, Ryan Reynolds, Zendaya, Parks and Recreation, Sing, Grilled Cheese with Mustard, Taylor Swift, and Milesplit … chose CSUN because of the academic and sports opportunities … says greatest sports moment so far is dropping five seconds of her PR at the state qualifier during her sophomore year to place third and qualify for the state meet … says the best thing about being an athlete is getting clout at school … says the toughest thing about being an athlete is balancing school, sports, a social life, and remembering to take care of yourself … says the best athlete she has competed against is Katelyn Tuohy … the person in history she would like to meet is Taylor Swift … if she could have dinner with two people it would be Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift … is a quadruplet (brothers Tyler, Derek, and sister Amanda)…the best advice she has been given is don’t be afraid to try new things and talk to people … her advice to young people is to work hard and everything will fall into place … says her greatest hero is her trainer because he has given her so much confidence in herself and treats me like his daughter.
