Matadors Tied for Fifth After 18 Holes at Cal Poly

NORTHRIDGE, CA - Sophomore Alice Duan is tied for seventh while the CSUN women's golf team is tied for fifth after one round of the Cal Poly Invitational Saturday at Cypress Ridge Golf Course in Arroyo Grande, CA.
Duan fired an opening round three-over 75 and heads into Sunday's final round just five shots behind the individual leader Kyleigh Moreno of Santa Clara.
Kayla Yn and Michelle Duan are currently tied for 24th at eight-over 80 followed by Brooke Hamilton and Shenna DeLeon who are tied for 33rd at 10-over 82. Ashley Phelps is also competing for the Matadors as an individual and also shares 33rd place at 10-over 82.
CSUN's opening round 317 ties the Matadors with Holy Names as both teams are 19 shots behind team-leading Santa Clara heading into the final round. Cal Poly (304) is second followed by Cal Baptist (310) and CSU Bakersfield (315). Six schools are competing at the Cal Poly Invitational.
