Track and Field Geared Up Triton Invitational

Entering this weekend of competition at the UCSD Triton Invitational, the CSUN men's and women's track and field teams are looking to best their outdoor performances from the season thus far and with only three meets remaining, CSUN looks to make its impression in San Diego.

Events will begin at 9:30 a.m. Friday with the Hammer Invitational and will conclude with the Men's 5000m Saturday at 6:45 p.m. Live stats will be available here.

How Things Stand
For the Men:
- Senior Erick Loomis set the school record in the hammer throw earlier this season at the USC Trojan Invitational with a distance of 224-6. He is ranked third in the Men's Hammer Throw Invitational going into Friday right behind Joe Ellis of Michigan.
- Jaloni West has the best mark of the year for the Men's 100m with a 10.84 time on Mar. 16 at the USC Trojan Invitational (Mar. 16). He is seeded 12th (10.81) in the Men's 100m Dash, Ben Hibbert is seeded 13th with a time of (10.84).
- Junior Parker Caston's mark of 21.72 for the 200m at the Stanford Invitational on Mar 29 is best on the squad.
- Justin Alexander is leader of the 400m pack when he has a time a 48.12 at the USC Trojan Invitational (Mar. 16). Alexander is ranked sixth in the Big West in the 400m hurdles with his 48.12 performanced achieved during the USC Trojan Invite (Mar 15).
- Junior Matthew Arnold has the top triple jump in the field this weekend (49-4 1/4). He also leads the team in the long jump (23-1 ¼).
- Freshman Bashiru Abdullahi ranks first in the Big West for the 110 hurdles with a time of 13.91, which he achieved during the Stanford Invitational (Mar. 29).
For the Women:
- Stella Weinberg set the school record in the Javelin Throw with a mark of 178-8 during the Stanford Invitational (Mar 29), Weinberg is the top seed in this weekend's meet while teammate Maelle Douville ranks second in the javelin field (147-9).
- Immanuela Aliu leads the Matadors in the 100m (11.94) and 200m (24.31).
- Freshman Lena Kandissounon leads CSUN in the 400m (55.04) and the 800m (2:06.17).
- Senior Sydney Mosley paces the team in the 100m hurdles with a time of :13.57. Her performance is the fourth fastest in school history which was set during the Stanford meet. Â
- CSUN has turned in the top time in the conference this season in the 4x100 meter relay. The time of :46.00 was set during the Triton Invitational. Â
- De'Andreah Young is seeded in the 400m Hurdles this weekend with a time of 57.81.
- Junior Ty Wallace is seeded fourth in the triple jump invitational that will take place this weekend (40-04.00 set during the 2019 San Diego Collegiate Challenge on Mar. 9).
