OUTDOOR: Named 2019 Big West Men's Track & Field Freshman of the Year…won the Big West 110m hurdle title by running the second fastest time in school history (:13.80)…scored at the conference championship in the 400m hurdles with a seventh-place showing (:53.99) while also running the third leg of CSUN's 4x100m relay which finished second…qualified for the NCAA West Regional, advancing to the NCAA Championships by finishing 12th (:13.94)…ran :13.90 in the first round of the 110m hurdles at nationals, but his 17th-place finish did not advance him to the semifinals…competed in 10 110m hurdle races during the season, finishing third or better six times.
INDOOR: Broke the CSUN indoor school record in the 60m hurdles when he ran :7.75 during the preliminaries of the University of New Mexico’s Don Kirby Invitational…would later finish second in the finals of the 60m hurdles at the event…placed second in the 60m hurdles at the MPSF Championships (:7.90)…was second in the 60m hurdles in the 60m hurdles at New Mexico’s Team Invitational.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2018 graduate of Auntie Rose Secondary School...coach was Anthony Moses.
PERSONAL: Son of Anik Abdullahi and Abdullahi Joy Amina...a kinesiology major...has one brother (Wahab) and two sisters (Nana and Fatima)...says his greatest sports moment was participating in the 2015 African Junior Athletics Championship in Ethiopia... says the best advice he's been given “is to never give up no matter what”.
