Mosley's School Record Highlights Day 2 Of Regionals

Day 2 Results
SACRAMENTO, Calif.—For the second day in a row, a CSUN entry reset a school record as the Matadors completed day two of the NCAA Division I Track & Field West Regional Friday.

WOMEN
Sydney Mosley lowered her own school record in the 100m hurdles to :13.13 as she advanced to the quarterfinals of the event. Mosley's performance was the 12th fastest of the event. The quarterfinals will be run Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.

De'Andreah Young turned in a :57:84 performance in the 400m hurdles, but she did not advance to the national meet. With the top 12 moving on, Young was 14th in the race.

Immanuela Aliu posted a time of :11.53 in the 100m, but she did not advance to the NCAA Division I Track & Field Championships. Aliu finished 18th in the field of 24.

With a 60-minute break, Aliu turned around and competed in the 200m. Aliu recorded a time of :23.90 which was the 33rd overall in the field of 48 but did not advance her to the quarterfinals.

MEN
Bashiru Abdullahi advanced to the quarterfinals of the 110m hurdles when he ran :13.87 to tie with USC's Omotode Ojora for the 12th quickest time of the round. Antonio Garcia failed to advance in the 110m hurdles as he was issued a false start in his heat. The 110m hurdle quarters are scheduled for Saturday night at 7:20 p.m.

Armon Hunter's toss of 176-9 in the discus earned him a 23rd place showing in the 48-man field. Hunter's performance did not move him onto to the national championships.

"Today was a minute of highs and lows as are most championship competitions. Sydney advanced with a huge lifetime best, De'Andreah, fought hard and came up a little short, and Immanuela gained some valuable experience that will be useful to her down the line. Our student-athletes are competing hard and giving their best efforts against some of the best competition in the country. We have a big day on Saturday, and I like our chances!!"

UP NEXT
In addition to those entries who advanced to the next round of their respective events, CSUN will send five athletes out to compete on the final day of the West Regional Saturday. The Matador entries are;
