CSUN Opens Competition at Arizona's Willie Williams Classic

TUCSON, Ariz.—The CSUN Men's and Women's Track and Field teams competed on day one of the University of Arizona's Willie Williams Classic Friday night.
David Phillips, Jr., posted the top CSUN men's performance. He finished third in the 200m (21.47) in a field of 78 runners.
Arianna Alexander recorded the highest finish on the women's side for the Matadors. Alexander finished fifth in the 200m with a personal-best time of :24.42.

"Coming off a week where we saw several personal records set, you sometimes worry as a coach, how the team will respond. However, the team came out strong today. We had several personal bests set, and we have a lot of confidence going into the Saturday portion of the meet."
