Matadors Win Three Times on Day 1 of CSUN Invitational

NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—The CSUN Men's and Women's Track and Field teams hosted day one of the CSUN Invitational Friday afternoon at the Matador Track & Field Complex.
"It feels good to be back on our home track. We had solid performances today from the event areas. I am looking forward to watch more great performances tomorrow."

- The Matador women won a pair of events. Yanla Ndjip-Nyemeck took the top honor in the 200m. She ran :24.10 which is the seventh fastest by a freshman at CSUN.
- Sameerah Evans won the long jump with a personal best leap of 18-1 3/4.
- Joseph Alipranti recorded the lone Matador men's victory when he recorded a toss of 168-10 in the hammer throw.

- Kaliyah Poston, 200m, 4th, :25.04*.
- Sonia Avila, 5000m, 4th, 19:55.76.
- Rionna Wallace, 200m, 5th, :25.50*.

- Brianna Kelpis, Long Jump, 5th, 17-2*.
- Carl Boateng , Long Jump, 2nd, 22-10 3/4.
- David Phillips, Jr., 200m, 3rd, :21.28*. The time is the 10th fastest in school history in the 200m.
- Ahmed Mohamed, Long Jump, 3rd, 21-8.
- James Moore, 5000m, 3rd, 15:32.61*.
- Christopher Thompson, Long Jump, 4th, 21-0.
- Chris Pitts, 200m, 4th, :21.45*.
- De Marq Jaque, 200m, 8th, :22.09.
- Raphael Adedigba, 200m, 9th, :22.19*.
