CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in five of seven events...season best finish was a 45th that came on the 6k course of the Oct. 17 Highlander Invitational (19:52.10)...season best 8k time of 27:22.50 was put up during the Sept. 5 San Francisco Cross Country Invitational...finished 63rd at the Big West Championships (27:22.60).
2015 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Entered three events, running in three different races...finished 10th in the 1500m at the Northridge Invitational on Mar. 14 in a time of 4:16.63...was seventh in the 3000m steeplechase at the Northridge Invitational Mar. 21 (11:03.97)...placed 44th in the 5000m (Apr. 24) at the Triton Invitational (16:18.92).
INDOOR: Did not compete.
CROSS COUNTRY: Entered five of seven cross country meets...finished 63rd at the Big West Championships (Nov. 1) after clocking an 8k time of 27:27.5...finished a season best 54th in 27:36.1 at the San Francisco Invitational (Aug. 30)...was named Academic All-Conference.
2014 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Did not compete.
INDOOR: Did not compete.
CROSS COUNTRY: Ran in four cross country meets...finished 60th at the Big West Championships (Nov. 2) in a time of 29:29.6...placed 132nd at the Sacramento State Inter-Regional Jamboree (Oct. 4), 162nd at the UC Riverside Invitational (Sept. 14) and 198th at the Stanford Invitational (Sept. 28).
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2013 graduate of Royal High School...named team MVP as a freshman in 2009...ran for the Highlanders and coach Ryan Luce...graduated with a 3.8 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Fabiola Estrada and Jose Luis Chavez...favorites include the Los Angeles Lakers, actors Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie and the movie "I Am Legend"...says the best advice he's ever been given is "run fast".
