Merren lettered in volleyball and also played football at Quartz Hill High School in Quartz Hill, Calif. ... was named team Most Valuable Player for the Rebel volleyball team in 2016-17 and earned Most Improved Player accolades in 2015-16 ... his teams went undefeated all four years ... also picked up all-league honors and was named to the Dos Pueblos All-Tournament Team in 2017-18 ... also played quarterback for the Rebels football team ... graduated in 2019.
