2012 (SENIOR)
OUTDOOR: Opened season by finishing third at the Rainbow Relays with a career best clearance of 15-7...placed second at the Cal State LA Tiny Lister Classic (15-3 1/2)...cleared 15-5 to finish 11th at the Big West Championships...named Academic All-Conference.
INDOOR: Finished 18th in the pole vault at the MPSF Championship (15-2 1/4)...season best finish was a fourth at the Boise State Team Challenge (15-1).
2011 (JUNIOR)
OUTDOOR: Finished tied for eighth in the pole vault at the Big West Championship...cleared a top height of 15-3 1/2 at the conference meet...posted a season-best height of 15-7 at the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational which was good for second-place.
INDOOR: Finished 13th in the pole vault at the MPSF Championship with a height of 15-3 3/4 which was an indoor season best and ranks seventh on the CSUN all-time indoor top-10.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Competed at Cuesta College...finished second in the Western State Conference championships and was sixth in the California state championships...top pole vault height was 15-6...earned his Associate of Arts degree in 2010...spent one season at College of the Canyons.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Canyon High School in Santa Clarita, Calif...a three-time track team MVP for the Cowboys from 2005-07...was the Foothill League pole vault champion as a junior and senior as well as finishing seventh in the CIF as a senior in 2007...also won JV league pole vault titles as a freshman and sophomore...set the school and league record with a height of 14-6...graduated with a 4.0 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Ashley and Jon Woodard who are both Cal State Northridge graduates...a business major...his father played basketball for the Matadors and was later a professional racquetball player...favorite athlete is Lance Armstrong...other favorites include the TV show "Burn Notice",the movie "Top Gun" and the music of The Beatles and Dierks Bentley...favorite website is Ebay...says the best thing and toughest thing about being an athlete is "the hard workouts".
