2013 (R-SENIOR)
OUTDOOR: Finished 12th in 100m of the preliminaries of the Big West Championships (:10.86)...ran the 100m and 200m at the UCI/Steve Scott Invitational...was 11th in the 100m (:10.97) and 16th in the 200m...charted a career best in the 200m (:22.90).
INDOOR: Did not compete.
2012 (R-JUNIOR): Competed in two meets...entered the 100m at the Big West Championships...his :10.87 placed him 12th in the preliminaries...was 23rd in the 100m at the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational (:10.91).
INDOOR: DId not compete.
2011 (R-SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Advanced to the NCAA West Preliminary as a member of the CSUN 4x100m relay...ran the opening leg as the team finished 20th in a time of :42.09...placed sixth in 100m at the Big West Championships in a time of :10.88 ... ran a season-best 10.77 to finish fifth in the prelims.
INDOOR: Clocked an indoor season-best :6.96 in the 60m at the UW Invitational...finished third in the 60m (:7.06) at the Boise State Team Challenge.
PRIOR TO CSUN: A member of the track and field team at Moorpark College from 2008-09...was the Western State Conference 100m champion...his best time in the 100m was :10.74 and best time in the 200 was :21.74...the Raiders won the Western State Conference in 2009...also ran on the 4x100 relay team...earned his Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Rio Mesa High School in Oxnard, Calif....competed in the 100 and 200 meters as well as the 4x100 relay for the Spartans track squad...was named Most Valuable Track & Field Athlete in 2008...the Spartans won the Pacific View League championship in 2008...best times were :10.72 in the 100m and 21.68 in the 200m.
PERSONAL: Son of Cristina and Robert Alfino...major is business management...has one sister, Stephanie...favorite athlete is sprinter Miki Barber...chose CSUN because of "the coaches, the schedule and the team"...says the best thing about being an athlete is "the opportunities that being an athlete brings" and the toughest is "staying healthy for competition"...says track could be improved by "charging the first false start to the field".
