2013 (R-SENIOR)
OUTDOOR: Placed fifth in the 110m hurdle preliminaries of the Big West Championship (:14.70) but did not record a time in the finals...finished fourth in the long jump with a career best leap of 24-1 3/4 to finish fourth in the Big West Championship...also finished fourth in the triple jump at the Big West's (49-7 3/4)...finished eighth in the high jump at the Stanford Invitational (6-5).
INDOOR: Finished sixth in the heptathlon at the UW Invitational (5,061)...was third in the 60m hurdles (:8.30) at the Texas A&M Invitational...was fourth in the triple jump at Texas A&M (47-5).
2012 (R-JUNIOR)
OUTDOOR: Earned his first trip to the NCAA West Preliminaries in the triple jump...finished 43rd with a top jump of 46-11...had CSUN's top triple jump of the season (50-0 1/2) which he posted at the Rainbow Relays in Hawai'i (Mar. 24) finished sixth in the triple jump at the Big West Championship with a best mark of 47-0 1/4...finished second in the long jump (24-0 1/4) to earn All-Big West honors...also competed in the decathlon at the Big West Championships ninth with a total of 6,257 points...posted a score of 6,385 in the decathlon at the Northridge Invitational (Mar. 15-16).
INDOOR: Finished third in the heptathlon at the Jackson Invitational at Boise State (4,754)...his 5,087 points in the MPSF Hepthatlon earned him a ninth-place finish and is the fourth highest score in school history.
OUTDOOR: Redshirted the outdoor season at CSUN.
INDOOR: Finished 12th in the long jump and 13th in the triple jump a the MPSF Championships posted a best of 22-9 1/4 in the long jump and 45-1 1/2 in the triple jump at the MPSF's...top long jump of the season was 23-0 3/4 at the UW Invitational and top triple jump was 45-10 at the Boise State Team Challenge where he finished fourth.
PRIOR TO CSUN: A member of the track and field team at from 2009-10 at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, Calif...named team MVP as a jumper and sprinter for the Pirates..his team won the Orange Empire Conference championship...best marks were 24-11 in the long jump, 49-11 in the triple jump and best time was 10.71 in the 100 meters...earned his Associate of Arts degree in 2010.HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of Cypress High School in Cypress, Calif...earned All-Empire League honors as a jumper in 2008 as well as team MVP honors...the Centurions won the league track & field championship all four years (2004-08)...his football team won the CIF championship in 2008.
PERSONAL: Son of Jennifer and Donovan Toban Sr...major is Kinesiology...has one sister, Lisa who attended UC Riverside...favorites include the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant, actors Will Smith and Roselyn Sanchez, the TV show" Pros vs. Joes" and the movie "Remember the Titans"...favorite website is Facebook...says the best thing about being an athlete is "people look after you" and the toughest thing is "pressure"...listens to music and dances as a pre-meet ritual...couldn't imagine going a week without food.
