2009 (JUNIOR): Finished season with 0-3 singles record and 0-3 doubles record before injuries cut her season short...teamed with Whitney Paluch at No. 3 doubles...played two singles match- es at No. 6 and one at No. 5...had to retire in match against Cal Poly on Jan. 31.
2008 (SOPHOMORE): Sported a 5-6 overall singles record in sophomore year, finish- ing 0-3 at No. 4 position, 3-2 as fifth seed and 2-1 record at sixth spot...was 3-3 in Big West singles action...started season 4-1, recording victories over league rivals Cal State Fullerton and Pacific...snapped four-match losing streak with 6-4, 6-0 victory over UC Riverside's Angelique Corpuz on April 5 at the No. 5 position...finished 2-7 overall in doubles action, playing with three different teammates...joined with junior Sandra Kukla at end of the season to go 2-2 at No. 3 doubles position...finished 0-1 with freshman Nina Jaworowski, 0-1 with senior Canna Furuta and 0-3 with junior Victoria Brymer.
2007 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in 13 doubles matches at the No. 3 position...went 7-1 with partner Canna Furuta and 2-3 with Kasia Krasinska...won both matches with Furuta at the Big West Tournament (Apr. 27-28) against Pacific’s Carla Tamborini and Sasha Fisher and Long Beach State’s Sandra Rocha and Rachael Porsz...recorded a 5-1 doubles record during Big West regular-season matches...won her first four doubles matches of the year with Furuta (Mar. 25-Apr. 7) and her last three (Apr. 16-28)...also triumphed in her first two contests of the year with Krasinska as her partner.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Palos Verdes Peninsula High School in Rolling Hills Estates, Calif..helped the Panthers to a Bay League title with a 26-1 record...advanced to the CIF Southern Section final...PVPHS also claimed the Corona del Mar All-American Tournament, with Fournell earning All- Tournament honors.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Deborah and James Fournell...has a younger brother, Spencer ... uncle Bill played football at CSUN...favorites include the movie "A Knight's Tale" and eating sweets and candy says the best thing about being an athlete is competing, while the toughest thing is staying healthy....says a prayer before each match...would like to be stranded on a deserted island with Beanpole...if she could have dinner with any two people they would be Jesus and her grandmother B.G...no one knows how much she likes candy....lists the best advice she has been given as "Don't worry about what you can't control."
