2009 (SENIOR): Season was cut short by injuries, yet she returned to finish 1-7 in singles matches and 8-4 in doubles matches...teamed with Whitney Paluch helped Matadors clinch doubles point against Pacific at the Big West Tournament...duo also picked up wins over UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Columbia and San Francisco...recorded only singles win of the season against UC Riverside on April 7...honored by CSUN at Varsity N Banquet for having highest GPA of all female student-athletes...named Academic All-Conference.
2008 (JUNIOR): Finished 13-5 overall in singles play, the second-most victories on the Matadors...went 6-2 against Big West opponents in singles play, including a 7-6 (9), 6-1 victory over Long Beach State's Deborah Armstrong, the Matadors' only point in the match...posted a 2-0 record at the No. 2 position, a 6-4 record from the No. 3 seed and a 5-1 record as the No. 4 player...posted a 10-7 overall mark in doubles, going 8-4 with freshman Nina Jaworowski, 2-2 with sophomore Kristy Fournell and 0-1 with Victoria Brymer...teaming with Jaworowski, the duo was 8-4 over- all and 3-1 in Big West matches, all played at the No. 3 position...tandem opened up play winning six of first seven matches...closed the season with Fournell, posting victories over UC Riverside and CSU Bakersfield.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Attended UTSA from 2005-2007...named to All- Southland Conference in 2006 after finishing season as team's No. 2 singles player...received Academic All-Southland Conference honors in 2007.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2003 graduate of Gymnasium Bergschule.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Gerda and Reimund Kukla...pursuing a graduate degree in communication studies...originally hails from Schmiedehausen, Germany...lists some of her favorites as tennis player Roger Federer, the movie "Dirty Dancing" and the television show "CSI: Miami"...chose Northridge because it provided a necessary change of scenery...says the best thing about being an athlete is the traveling while the worst part is managing her time...says no one knows how much she would like to go to Israel...couldn't imagine going a week without tennis.
