OUTDOOR: Finished 13th in the heptathlon at the Big West Championship with a score of 3969 points...posted 3,155 points at the heptathlon at the Jim Click Invitational at the University of Arizona...won the high jump (5-1) at the Pasadena Games.
INDOOR: Did not compete.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2012 graduate of Buchanan High School...a three-time MVP for the Bears track & field team and was also named Most Valuable Freshman...competed as a sprinter, jumper and relay team member as her team was the Valley champions under coach Brian Weaver in 2012...was named Best Defensive Player all four years for the basketball team which also won a league championship in 2012...earned high honor roll and Principal's Honor Roll academic accolades...graduated with a 3.6 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Sandra and Charles Simmons...major is undecided...has one older brother, Nigel who attends Ohio Dominican University...her father played football at Fresno State...favorites include US Olympic sprinter Sanya Richards-Ross, actors Martin Lawrence and Taraji P. Henson, the TV show "Basketball Wives" and all Tyler Perry movies...says the toughest thing about being an athlete is "our fit bodies" and the toughest thing is "time management and eating healthy."
