OUTDOOR: Did not compete.
INDOOR: Entered two meets...finished seventh in the pole vault in the NYU Team Challenge Jan. 19 (13-9 1/4)...did record a height at the Great Dane Classic Jan. 18.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2012 graduate of Downey High School...the Vikings won the CIF Division I championship under coach Robert Gleason...also played power forward for the Downey High basketball team, winning San Gabriel Valley League championships in 2010-11 and 2011-12...also earned the Scholar Athlete award...graduated with a 3.87 grade point average.
PERSONAL
Son of Mercedes and Michael Gonzalez...major is civil engineering...has two older brothers, Anthony and Michael...favorites include the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant,actors Tom Hanks and Sofia Vergara, the TV show "The Walking Dead"and the movie "Pulp Fiction"...says his top sports moment was"winning CIF"...says his sport could be improved by having a bigger audience.
