OUTDOOR: Helped CSUN win its fifth straight 4x100m Big West relay title as the team ran a time of :40.00...relay advanced to the NCAA West Regional and finished 17th in the first round of the meet (:40.87)...helped CSUN win the 4x100m relay at the Mt. SAC Relays Apr. 20...ran a career best :10.67 in the 100m preliminaries of the Big West Championship May 10...finished sixth in the finals (:10.95).
INDOOR: Recorded a career best in the 60m (:6.96) to finish second at the NYU Team Challenge Jan 19...tied career best in the preliminaries of the MPSF Championship to place 22nd Feb. 22...ran career indoor best, :22.52, to finish 28th at the MPSF's.
2012 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Ran a season-best :10.96 in the 100m prelims of the Stanford Invitational on Apr. 7....charted a season-best in the 200m (:22.58) came at the Cal State LA Twilight Open (Apr. 19) ...ran the first leg of the CSUN 4x100 relay team that won its fourth straight Big West championship...the team ran a season-best :40.57 at the conference meet.
INDOOR: Did not compete.
OUTDOOR: Reached the NCAA West Preliminaries as a member of the Matadors' 4x100m relay...ran the third leg and the team finished 20th in a time of :42.09...the 4x100mr relay won the Big West Championship in a season-best time of :40.57...finished 14th in the 100m prelims of the Big West Championship, clocking a season best time of :10.91...ran a wind-aided :10.90 at the Cal-Nevada Championships.
INDOOR: Placed 21st in the 60m prelims in a season-best :7.01 at the MPSF Championship...finished 24th the 200m prelims in a time of :22.87 at the MPSF's...posted an indoor season-best in the 200m (:22.68) at the UW Invitational.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Skyline High School...lettered all four years for the Titans track team...a four-time All-Oakland Athletic League honoree as as sprinter...the track team won four straight league championships (2007-10)...best times were :10.80 in the 100m, :22.11 in the 200m and :7.00 in the 60m....also earned first team All-League honors as a wide receiver/defensive back for the football team...scored nine of his team's 10 touchdowns in 2008.PERSONAL: Son of Alysia Nero...major is Kinesiology...grandparents are Linda and Brooklyn Thompson...has one younger brother, Lyle...his grandmother is the head softball and head volleyball coach at College of Alameda and played collegiate softball at Cal State East Bay...favorite athlete is sprinter Asafa Powell...other favorites include actors Will Smith and Halle Berry, the movie "Love Don't Cost a Thing", seafood and the music of the Black Eyed Peas and Usher...chose CSUN because of "Coach Anderson and the track team"...was also recruited by Portland State, Idaho State and Boise State...says the toughest thing about being an athlete is "accepting loss".
