2014 (SENIOR)
OUTDOOR: Posted a career best 50-6 3/4 in the triple jump at the Big West Championships May 16 to finish second...advanced to the NCAA West Regional in the triple jump, finishing 25th (49-5 3/4)...was seventh in the high jump at the Big West Championships (6-3 1/4)...won the triple jump at the Apr. 26 Fresno State Bulldog Invitational (47-3)...was second in the triple jump at the Stanford Invitational (48-3 1/2)...named Academic All-Conference.
INDOOR: Opened indoor season with a second place showing (48-10 1/4) in the triple jump Jan. 17 during the Great Dane Classic...was fourth (47-0 1/4) in the triple jump and 10th in the high jump (6-2 1/4) at the Jan. 18 Saturday Night Shootout...named Academic All-MPSF.
2013 (JUNIOR)
OUTDOOR: Finished sixth in the triple jump at the Big West Championships on May 11...posted a best mark of 48-2 during the championships...season best 48- 5 1/4 came on his final attempt at the Stanford Invitational (Mar. 30) where he went on to finish third among collegiate jumpers...was sixth in the high jump at the Big West Championships (6-3 1/2)...finished 10th in lone 110m hurdles start of the year (:19.11) at the Texas Invitational Apr. 13.
INDOOR: Had CSUN's top triple jump after posting a mark of 48-3 1/2 on his first of three attempts at the MPSF Championships (Mar. 23) to finish 10th in the event....went 19-6 1/4 in the long jump at the NYU Team Challenge Jan. 19 to place ninth.
2012: Did not compete.
2011 (SOPHOMORE): Attended El Camino College...was the 2011 CCCAA triple jump champion...earned All-State accolades under coach Kevin Hughley and was named team captain...earned his associate of arts degree in liberal arts in 2012 with a 3.5 grade point average.
2010 (FRESHMAN): Spent freshman season at College of San Mateo...was a triple jumper under the guidance of former Matador track and field standout Ryan Beckwith...the 2010 NorCal champion and the Bulldogs won the NorCal team title.
HIGH SCHOOL
A 2009 graduate of Evergreen Valley High School...earned track team MVP honors as a triple jumper and high jumper for the Cougars and coach John Hubbs...won the CCS triple jump championship with a leap of 47-11.
PERSONAL
Son of Gina Contreras...major is Film Production...has one brother, Victor and three sisters, Valerie,Jordan and Jeonna...favorites include the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagle wide receiver DeSean Jackson, actors Denzel Washington and Mila Kunis, ESPN and the movie "Higher Learning"...chose CSUN because of the "great campus and diversity"...praying while stretching is a pre-meet ritual.
