OUTDOOR: Competed twice in the hammer throw...threw 154-9 to place seventh at the Apr. 26 Fresno State Bulldog Invitational..was 13th in the hammer at the adidas/Steve Scott Invitational May 2 (144-6).
INDOOR: Did not compete.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Spent two seasons Ventura College in Ventura, Calif.... earned All-Western State Conference honors as a thrower under coach Anthony Veney...was named a team captain as a sophomore...earned his associate of arts degree in 2012 with a 3.0 grade point average.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Pacifica High School...lettered as a thrower for the Tritons for two years (2009-10) while also being named team captain...competed for coach Jason Daw...was also a lineman for the football squad...graduated with a 3.0 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Maria and Roberto Juarez... major is Criminology/Sociology....has three brothers, two older, Roberto and Saul,and one younger, Eric...favorites include the Dallas Cowboys, former NBA star Shaquille O’Neal and actor Adam Sandler...says the best thing about sports is "the friends made while practicing"...says the best advice he was ever given is“never go to sleep at night without accomplishing what you woke up that morning to do”.
