OUTDOOR: Ran a season best of 1:56.26 in the 800m at the Cal-Nevada Championships (Apr. 1)...posted a season best of 4:13.27 in the 1,500m at the Northridge Invitational (Mar.17)
INDOOR: Did not compete.
CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in four cross country meets for the Matadors ... finished 63rd at both the Northridge Invitational (Oct. 15) and the Big West Championships (Oct. 29) ... ran 29:21.28 at the CSUN meet and 29:32.2 at the conference championship.
2011 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Ran a career best 1:54.11 in the 800m at the Bryan Clay Invitational...turned in a career best 3:59.11 in the 1500m at the Cal-Nevada Collegiate...posted a career best 9:27.07 in the 3000m during the tri-dual with USC and BYU...went a career best :52.52 in the 400m during the Northridge Invitational...finished 15th in the preliminaries of the 800m (1:58.33) at the Big West Championships.
INDOOR: Went 1:55.65 in the 800m at the MPSF Championships to finish 17th...posted a career best in the mile, 4:33.35, at the Boise State Team Challenge.
CROSS COUNTRY: Ran four times...posted a 30:26.40 at the Asics/UC Irvine Invitational...went 28:32.70 at the UC Riverside Invitational...raced to a 29:21.28 time at the Northridge Invitational...finished 63rd at the Big West Championships by running 29:32.20.
2010 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Finished 19th in the 1500m at the Big West Championships (4:24.02)...was fourth in the 800m at the Cal State LA Tiny Lister Invitational (1:55.81)...placed eighth in the 3000m at the Tiny Lister (9:47.84)...ran season best in the 1500m (4:04.82) at the Bryan Clay Invitational...competed in the 200m in the Northridge Invitational (:24.35w).
INDOOR: Did not compete.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2008 graduate of James Monroe High School...finished in fourth place in the City finals for the 800 meters as a senior...top time was 2:00.10 in the 800 and 4:28.9 in the 1,600 meters...the Vikings won the league championship in 2008...graduated with a 3.4 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Maria Sanchez...major is psychology...has one brother, Donald...favorites include the Los Angeles Lakers and Kobe Bryant, actors Gerard Butler and Ellen Page, the TV show "Weeds" and the movie "Love & Basketball"...says his superstition is "I always have to eat pasta before race day"...lists Ozzy Osbourne as the one person in history he would like to meet.
