CSUN Kicks Off Outdoor Track & Field Season at Cal Poly Open

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.—The CSUN Men's and Women's Track and Field teams opened the 2022 outdoor season Friday at the Cal Poly Open. There were no team scores.
Noah Contreras posted the lone individual victory for the Matadors. Contreras won the 800m in a time of 1:56.68. In addition to Contreras' win, here are the Matadors' top finishes in each event in which CSUN entered;

"It feels good to get the track season started, but you could tell we haven't competed in a while. Now that we have some of our competitive juices flowing, we will head into the UCSB meet with more focus and determination so that we can produce better results."

CSUN will enter a three-day event at UC Santa Barbara next week. The competition begins with a multi-event Mar. 9-10 before wrapping up with an invitational on Mar. 11.
