OUTDOOR: Entered three events, running four races ranging from 1500m to the 5000m…posted a 4:03.62 in the 1500m at the USC Invitational Mar. 15…went 9:03.58 in the 3000m at the San Diego Collegiate Challenge Mar. 8…posted 15:24.12 at the Triton Invitational Apr. 12.
INDOOR: Ran on CSUN’s distance medley relay at two events; the UW Invitational (Jan. 25) and the MPSF Championship (Feb. 22)…the Matador DMR finished 12th (10:30.15) at the MPSF’s…ran one individual event, the 1000m, at the Air Force Holiday Open and finished 11th (2:47.65).
CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in all six CSUN cross country meets…posted 8k season best time of :25.52.70 at the Sept. 29 Capital Cross Challenge…finished 36th at the Big West Championship in a time of 26:04.90…was entered in the NCAA West Region meet and tallied a time of 34:53.90 over the 10k course.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2018 graduate of Bonita High School…was a first team All-Palomares League cross country runner in 2016 and 2017…earned second team All-League honors for the Bearcats track team in the 3,200 meters in 2018…lettered all four years in both cross country and track…his team won back-to-back league championships in 2015 and 2016…graduated with a 3.5 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Born Oct.25, 2000…son of Yony Hidalgo and Laura Reyes…a communication studies major...has two sisters, Naomi and Mikayla…Naomi attends Biola University…favorites include the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, actress Scarlett Johansson, the music of Frank Sinatra and the movie "42"…says the best thing about being an athlete is "the competitive drive" and the toughest thing is "the discipline.”
