2014 (SENIOR)
OUTDOOR: Finished 10th in the long jump at the Big West Championship (21-10) on May 16...won the Rainbow Relays' long jump with a leap of 22-5 3/4...was second in the long jump at the Apr. 26 Bulldog Invitational (22-9)...was third in the long jump at the USC Invitational Mar. 22 (23-5 1/4)...named Academic All-Conference.
INDOOR: Placed seventh in the long jump at the MPSF Championship (22-9 1/4)...opened indoor season by coming in second at the Great Dane Classic Jan. 17 (23-7 1/2)...was third at the Saturday Night Shootout Jan. 18 (22-5 3/4)...named Academic All-MPSF.
2013 (JUNIOR): Finished fifth in the long jump at the Big West Championship (May 11)...posted a best leap of 23-7 1.2 during the championships...career-best 23-11 3/4 came on his first attempt at the Adidas/Steve Scott Invitational (Apr. 28) where he finished third.
INDOOR: Finished 15th in the long jump at the MPSF Championship (Mar. 22-23) where he posted an indoor best of 22-6 1/2...named Academic All-MPSF.
2012 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Placed 13th in the long jump at the Big West Championship (21-10 3/4)...season best of 22-0 3/4 was posted during the Apr. 7 Cal State LA Tiny Lister Invitational where he placed eighth in the field of 28.
INDOOR: Posted season best long jump of 22-0 3/4 at the Great Dane Classic (Jan. 20)...finished 16th at the MPSF Championships (21-0)...named Academic All-MPSF.
2011 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Recorded season best 23-5 1/4 to finish fourth in the Big West Championship...also jumped 22-7.25 (6.89) to finish second at the Cal State LA Twilight Open
INDOOR: Placed 16th in the long jump at the MPSF Indoor Championship after jumping 22-4 1/4 which was his indoor season best.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Franklin High School in Elk Grove, Calif...earned All-Delta Valley League honors in the long jump as a junior and senior...was also an All-League cornerback for the Wildcats football team...won a pair of JV basketball championships in 2006-07 and 2007-08...also earned Scholar-Athlete and Honor Roll recognition...graduated with a 3.47 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Tina Wells...stepfather is Derrick Wells...major is Psychology...has one sister, Madisyn...his uncle Leroy Wardell played professional football for the Washington Redskins and another uncle Rosevelt Wardell played for the University of Illinois...was also recruited by UC Davis, Sacramento State and Air Force...favorites include actors Denzel Washington and Will Smith and YouTube...says "competing and having fun" is the best thing about being an athlete while "working out when you don't feel like it" is the toughest...enjoys watching TV in his spare time.
