DJ Milam had a very productive year in his first season with the Matadors. He appeared in 22 games, all out of the bullpen, and went 4-1 with a 3.62 ERA. In addition, Milam had two saves and struck out 17 batters while walking just seven in 32.1 innings of work. He threw just one wild pitch all year and held opponents to a .196 batting average, the lowest mark of anyone on staff. He struck out two batters in four different games and his longest outing was 2.2 innings on May 19th at Cal Poly.
QUARTZ HILL HIGH SCHOOL
Milam was a member of the baseball program for four years and was a starter at the varsity level as a junior and senior. As a sophomore, Milam was named the league MVP and Offensive Player of the Year. In his junior season, the Rebels won the Golden League Championship while Milam collected four saves and a 1.32 ERA. As a senior, Milam picked up four wins, two saves and a 1.63 ERA.
