Michael Najera served as the team's backup catcher during his freshman season with the Matadors and made 17 appearances. He started 12 games for Northridge and recorded nine hits, including two doubles and a triple, while also driving in a pair of runs and scoring four of his own. Najera recorded two hits in three different games and had his RBIs in back-to-back wins over UC Riverside.
WEST COVINA HIGH SCHOOL
Najera competed as a catcher for the Bulldogs for four seasons. As a senior, he compiled a .435 batting average. Najera graduated in 2012 with a 3.5 GPA.
