2017 CROSS COUNTRY: Competed in every event for CSUN...posted season best 5k time (16:23.20) at the Pepperdine Invite Sept. 1...posted a 25:52.20 over the 4.8m course at The Master's Challenge Sept. 30...best 6k time occurred during the Highlander Invitational Oct. 14 (18:22.30)...finished 22nd at the Big West Championships Oct. 28 in a season best 8k time of 25:11.30.
2015 (FRESHMAN)
OUTDOOR: Posted season best 800m time (1:58.03) to finish sixth during the Mar. 21 Northridge Invitational...charted season best 3:59.04 in the 1500m at the CSUN Challenge May 2...ran 9:19.46 in the 3000m at the CSUN Invitational Mar. 14...posted a 15:12.39 in the 5000m at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival Apr. 3.
INDOOR: Ran once during the indoor season...finished 29th in the mile (4:25.25) at the Jan. 31 Armory Track Invitational.
CROSS COUNTRY: Entered five events...posted season best 6k time Oct. 18 at the Highlander Invitational (18:43.30) to place 20th...recorded season best 8k performance (25:32.40) during the Big West Championships on Nov. 1....competed in the NCAA West Regional, finishing 167th over the 10k course in a time of 32:53.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2014 graduate of El Rancho High School...named Whittier Daily News Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year in 2013...was named first team All-State...the Dons won a pair of Del Rio League championships...ran the 800 and 1600 meters for the track squad...graduated with a 3.1 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Erika and David Rodolfo Sarco...has three brothers, Davis, Bryan and Erick...full names is Gefry Rodolfo Sarco-Climaco...favorites include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Lakers and New York Giants, the TV show "The Walking Dead", the movie "Interstellar" and the website ESPN.com...says his greatest sports moment was "qualifying for the state meet in cross country"...says the best thing about being an athlete is "meeting amazing people and exploring".
