2015 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Finished third in the 3000m steeplechase (9:59.34) at the Northridge Invitational on Mar. 20...posted season best steeple time of 9:42.13 at the UCI/Steve Scott Invitational May 2...ran on CSUN's "C" 4x400m relay at the May 2 CSUN Challenge (3:39.01) that finished seventh.
INDOOR: Ran once during the indoor season, the 3000m, at the UW Open on Feb. 15...posted a career best time of 9:06.16.
CROSS COUNTRY: Entered six events...reset career bests in the 6k (19:01.60) at the Highlander Invitational, 8k (26:16.50) at the Big West Championships, and the 10k (33:05.40) at the NCAA West Regional...finished 57th at the Big West Championships.
2014 (FRESHMAN): Finished 11th in the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 9:58.69...ran a CSUN best 9:09.64 in the 3,000 meters at the Bulldog Invitational (Apr. 26)...posted CSUN's top 3000m steeplechase time (9:39.12) during the Bryan Clay Invite...finished seventh in the steeplechase at the USC Invitational (Mar. 22) in a time of 9:39.87...also ran a 1,500 meter season-best of 4:05.07 at the UCR Spring Classic (Mar. 29).
INDOOR: Did not compete.
CROSS COUNTRY: Ran in five meets...season best 8k time came during the Sacramento State NCAA Inter-Regional Jamberee (26:46.90)...was 55th at the Big West Championships (28:45.00)....turned in a 6k performance of 19:14.20 during the Highlander Invitational.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2013 graduate of Bishop Alemany High School...coach was Eric Neumann...earned All-Mission League honors for the Warriors cross country team in 2002 and went to the CIF meet...ran a top time of 15:42 in the 5k...graduated in with a 3.2 grade point average.
PERSONAL: Son of Allison and Tom Higgins...a civil engineering major...has one sister, Sarah who attends Arizona ...says his greatest sports moment was when he ran a "15:42 PR in cross country"....says the toughest thing about being an athletes "dealing with bad days".
