2011 (JUNIOR)
OUTDOOR: Finished 13th in the high jump at the Big West Championship...cleared a best of 5-1 at the conference meet...season best of 5-3 came at three different meets; the Northridge Invitational (Mar. 12), the Cal State LA Twilight Open (Apr. 14) and the Tiny Lister Classic (Apr. 23)...won the high jump at the Cal State LA Twilight Open...ran the 200m (:28.71) at the Northridge Invitational.
INDOOR: Placed 16th in the high jump at the MPSF Championship with a top height of 5-2 1/2 in lone indoor appearance.
2010 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Posted a season best of 5-5 in the high jump...cleared 5-5 on two occasions; at the Northridge Invitational (Mar. 13) and at the USC Trojan Invitational (Mar. 20)...won the Trojan Invitational...ran the 100m hurdles (:17.13) at the Sun Angel Classic (Apr. 10)...finished 17th in the long jump at the Big West Championship (16-8 3/4)...was third in the high jump at the Cal State LA Tiny Lister Invitational (5-3) on Apr. 24.
INDOOR: Had the Matadors' top high jump of the indoor season clearing 5-4 1/2 at the MPSF Championship to finish tied for 14th...was fifth in the high jump at the Boise State Team Invitational (5-3) in only other indoor appearance.
HIGH SCHOOL:Â A 2006 graduate of the California School for the Deaf in Fremont, Calif...competed in track and field, volleyball and basketball...took third with a high jump of 5-4 in the Deaf Olympics in Melbourne, Australia in the summer of 2005...a center for the Eagles basketball team and a middle blocker for the volleyball team...graduated with a 3.25 grade point average.
PERSONAL:Â Daughter of Janice Houston and Douglas Griffith Jr....stepfather is Shon Houston...major is Kinesiology...has three sisters, Shayla, Shameka and Caquela and one brother, Dante...favorites include the TV show "The Family Guy", sushi and all kinds of movies...says the best thing about being an athlete is "having fun and staying in shape"...favorite website is postsecret.com.
