OUTDOOR: Finished a fourth in the 400 meters at the Big West Outdoor Championship in a lifetime-best :47.58 ... also ran the anchor leg of the Matadors’ 4x400 meter relay that placed sixth in a season-best time of 3:13.88 ...named Academic All-Conference
INDOOR: Ran an indoor lifetime-best of :49.13 in the 400 meters in the prelims of the MPSF Championship...also competed in the 200 meters where he also posted a personal-best :22.16.
2008 (SOPHOMORE)
OUTDOOR: Finished sixth in the Big West in the 400 meters with a season-best :47.77...also ran the anchor leg of the Matadors’ 4x400 relay team that placed fourth in a season-best time of 3:13.62...also clocked a season-best :22.29 in the 200 meters at the Steve
Scott Invitational.
INDOOR: Ran a season-best :49.15 in the 400 meter prelims at the WAC Indoor Championship but did not qualify for the final.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Spent one season at City College of San Francisco...ran the 400 meters and was part of the Rams' 4x400 meter NorCal Champion relay team...as a team, CCSF won the State Championship...ran a season-best :49.30 in the 400 meters.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2004 graduate of Alameda High School...ran track for two seasons...was the North Coast Section champion in the 400 meters and was part of the section champion 4x400 relay team...posted school records in both events...ran a personal-best :49.15 in the 400 as a senior in 2004.
PERSONAL: Son of Debra and Art Nious...major is Television Production...has one older sister, Tanisha...his father ran track at Baylor University...says he chose Northridge because of the location...favorite food is pineapple and his favorite musician is Avril Lavigne.
