OUTDOOR: Ran a season-best of :58.87 in the 400m hurdles at Cal State LA’s Tiny Lister Classic...clocked a season-best :54.93 in the 400m at the Aztec invitational and :24.80 in the 200m at the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational
INDOOR: Did not compete.
2010 (R-JUNIOR)
OUTDOOR: Finished 19th in the prelims of the 400m hurdles at the Big West Championship...ran :58.27 but did not qualify for the final...posted a season-best :57.43 at the Oxy Invitational (May 8) where he placed 22nd.
INDOOR: Did not compete.
2009 (REDSHIRT): Sat out the season as a redshirt in the CSUN program.
PRIOR TO CSUN: Spent 2007-08 at Glendale (Ariz.) CC...was a hurdler for coach Ralph Neighbors...posted a 3.2 grade point average in his two years.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of San Fernando High School...lettered in track, football and wrestling...was the Valley Mission League champion in the 300m hurdles in 2004 and 2006...earned honorable mention All-League honors in wrestling...the Tigers won the league title in football in 2004.
PERSONAL: Son of Veronica and Steven Perez...major is Kinesiology...has two brothers, Esteban and Nicholas and one sister, Victoria...favorites include the Dallas Cowboys and running back Marion Barber, the TV show “House of Payne” and the movie “Harlem Nights”....says his greatest moment in sports was “becoming league champion in the 300 IH in 2006”...says the toughest thing about being an athlete is “keeping up with everyone else.”
